My goal for this year is to have good grades than last year . I think I'm able to have good grades. How am I gonna be able to do this is by doing all my work , pay attention in class , and asking questions . And if I do good I'm gonna be able to make my parents proud .

Who I interviewed was my aunt Ana Lopez . What she learned in high school was , how to be responsible and how to be on time , there were important because now she's using them as an adult , she learned them at school by turning in work and homework and by waking up early to be on time. If she had travel back in time she wouldn't change anything in her high school year because she had an amazing 4 years at sweetwater high school. The teacher she learned most from was Ms. Tyler because she thought her in banking class how to be responsible and how to be financial as an adult. The advice she would give for the students in order to have a good high school experience would be for students to learn everything you can from Math , English and History class because you would need them in college and in life.

                   The person I interviewed Was my uncle Henry.the first question I asked him what were two important things he learned in high school and why were they important.He said that he learned how to use computers by listening to his instructions . He said that it is important to learn computers because you could do homework on your computer and look up important things. Also he said the second important thing he learned in high school was how to communicate safely he said  it was important because you need to communicate more to people.

The second question I  asked him was if he could travel back in time ,what would he change-in your own behavior in the school itself-to make his high school experience better. He said he would be more involved in clubs are actives, and also to take more time in studying.

The third question I asked him was what teacher did he learn the most from and why do you think you learned that from him. He said his driver's ad teacher because he actually took time and explained his self.   

The forth question i asked him was what advice he would give to a student to help him/her have a good high school experience . He said to make good choices and to study more befor a test and be involved more with clubs are actives.

In this year my goal is to be more accurate in my grades. Also I want to pay attention more in class. In my believe I think that if I talk in class I work less and if I talk less I work more, so my goal is to work more. Also my goal for this year is to pay attention to teachers and don't talk back. Another goal that I have this year is to be doing my homework. My last goal is to have a good year.  :)

       Hello for my advertisement picture I thought this would be a perfect example for ethos. The reason why I chose this as my example is because, it's telling the audience to hurry up and buy this McDonalds product as fast as you can or else you'll miss out a lot.           I categorize this ad as facts and statistics. This ad shows a bar graph among 0-8 year olds on how much time they spend on something in a typical day.  I believe when the audience sees this, they will say that 70% of 0-8 year old kids spend a bunch of time watching T.V. and 69% of the young aged kids are either reading or getting read to.

They store makes you want to go shopping to receive the discount , however once you're on the store you will end up spending more than $25. Specially in a store like Macys where it is very hard to find something for only $25.

Hello, for my advertisement picture I decided to post this Nike picture because it shows some of the Rhetorical devices we have been talking about. First of all in this picture it tries to convince you to buy these athletic shoes because it uses expert quotes by saying it helps your muscles and gives you faster results on your legs. It also says "The shoe works if you do", this is saying that you have to put in effort (talking to athletes and people who exercise).This is also an example of diction with how the person who wrote this talks and leaves the audience thinking or depending on them to buy the shoes.

This is also showing that target is one of the first  retailers to reduce, reuse, and recycle. When the audience sees this advertisement they will think that if they buy something from target then they will be helping the earth by recycling.

This ad is from American Apparel, it represents facts because it shows the price that ranges between $100-$300. This shows how much money you might spend in the store, however it comes with how many dollars it's off depending on how much money you spent. This American Apparel ad resembles back to school shopping and makes you believe that the more you buy the more you save. Because of the prices on this ad it does show that this device is facts.

The writer uses ethos as a rhetorical device. They influence the audience by making them think that if it whitens other people's teeth , it will whiten theirs as well.

            In this picture, it shows a little girl with smoke on top of her head resembling a halo which means she might die. The device for this would be pathos because the caption says that, "Children of parents who smoke, get to heaven early," and shows a halo on top of the little girl's head. Also, the audience will feel emotion and sadness in this photo and might tell them to not smoke. When I saw this picture of the picture, right away I said I won't smoke and did get sad when I saw the caption and the little girl.

       I interviewed my brother , I asked him , "What were the two most important things you learned in High school ? " . He said , "English was important because it's a language that usually everyone knows and speaks . Another important thing was History , because he liked to know about the past , and what it was like to live back in the old days . " If he would've traveled back in time he would change his attitude with his teachers . My mom would always receive a phone call saying "Your son , was acting loud , crazy , ect . " The advice my brother gave me was to never give up , and to always be nice to others . "

I choose this device because many people express themselves in  pictures,poems,speeches and books.I choose this picture so many people would feel an emotion or sadness for this puppy.      Hi my name is Abdulkadir Nur,i go by Abdi Nur which is  short for Abdi, cause most people have trouble with the name.So lets go into deeper detail about me I have a passionate love for the sport of basketball,and my hope is to get a spot on the SUHI basketball squad.My goals as a Freshman of Sweet water High School are to keep my academic,and sports on a scale of balance which shouldn't be hard for me to do.So a little more about me.I'm one individual that has respect for elders and those who love me. I am one of those people who can be down to earth,and entertaining and funny. Hello my name is Victor Aguirre and 1 of my main goal(s) for high school when it comes to school-wise is to become a very well organized student when it comes to knowing where i put in all my school and homework so I don't loose my work and get points deducted and end up getting a bad grade for any class. Adding to that, I would not only be organized but become known as a good student by earning teachers trusts and trying my best to become a better example through not only my freshman year but throughout all of high school. I look forward to this goal because I know this will make me become a better person that I am today and I will try to accomplish this by asking questions even if i'm wrong (even though I am going to not be always be wright) and after that I will try to do all the extra credit that I can so I can improve on my grades. I know this will be a great year and it will be a greater year if all this work is put into the right track.

My goal for this school year is to be more productive than I was when I was in eighth grade. What I can do is, work on my assignments first before I go on the computer and relax. I also need to start becoming more organized so I know what I have to work on when I get home. This is my goal for this year and how I plan on reaching it.

Freshmen Year Goal

         My goal this freshmen year is to have A's and B's in both citizenship and scholarship. I plan on achieving this goal by doing all my homework and classwork. Participating in class can help my citizenship grade and getting to class on time will help me maintain my citizenship grade as an A or B. Doing my homework after school so i don't have to worry about it later on is a way to maintain my scholarship grade. Going to tutoring is also another way to keep an A or B in my classes

 My goal for this school year is basically getting good grades in all my classes. I'm going to achive this goal by studing every day for at least 1 or 2 hours. Aditionally I'm going to achive this goal by, asking questions to my teachers about what I didn't understand during class. Furthermore I'm going to achive this by going to saterday school and learn more. This is my Goal for this school year to get good grades in every single class and asking questions in what I didn't understand in class. Finally having success in the future.

Goals for my Freshman Year c:

           My goals for 9th grade are to be more respectful , and do my homework everyday . I also want to be able to turn in all my work on time , so I won't be behind on my school work . Being on time is also one of my goals , because almost everyday in the eight grade I would be late and I would get Saturday school . I dislike going to school on Saturday's . I have a really bad attitude sometimes , so I think I need to change it . I hope it's not that hard . I also don't want to lose any of my old friends or new friends . So these are my goals for the ninth grade , I think I will be able to achieve them .

One of the things that i have as a goal being is to just simply get good grades for both 1st and 2nd semester and my definition of good grades are A's and B's. This is my first obligation over everything involving school thus far. I chose this as my goal due to the fact that i'm attempting to become and student athlete. I have to emphasize the student part because people want to play for the school but they don't have the grades to back it up with. Another goal i need to accomplish is to get higher scores on my any of my major scholastic's test then i did in my previous schools years so that i don't have to repeat any classes that i took during this year. Also last but not least what i need to really work on is my attitude because the more positive i am i'm   pretty sure that i wouldn't really have a difficult time in school.I know that to accomplish these goals i have to stay dedicated to them one way or another , i also know that it's not going to be an over night think i have to take small steps to build up to my main objective witch is to graduate from high school and i know it'll be a long road that will have it's ups and downs but i'll get to my goal one way or another.

     To achieve my goals, I've taken my experiences from the past and compare them to what I want to achieve now. I've taken all the negative thoughts and turned them into positive ones. The most important thing I learned this year is to have a growth mind set. Before learning about growth mindset, I have dealt with having a fixed mind set.
     My goal for this year is to continue having a positive perspective and a growth mind set. My number one goal however is too not only get good grades but to understand a teacher's lesson in class. I want to be able to know what they are teaching me, so it could help me in the near future.
    Another way I'd like to achieve is never giving up especially when it comes to school and my dreams. I think the most important thing about having a goal is taking small steps at a time and not give up no matter how difficult it may seem.

I interviewed my mom I asked her what were two most important things she learned in high school she said history because she learned about our fellow and ancestors and about Mexican heritage. English thought her how to speak and write that helpes her with the job she has now. If she was to travel back in time she would change her behavior she would pay more attention in school and get better grades. The teacher my mom learned from the most was her math teacher because he was interactive with the students. The advice my mom said she would give a student to help him or her have a good high school experience was pay attention during class, always push your self to do better and be involved in sports and clubs.

1.What where two or three most important things you learned in high school? Why were they so important? How did you learn them?

Barbara: I learned how to be on time in each of my classes everyday for the rest of the school year. Another thing i learned was being well organized with all my time for all my classes. I also learned these things individually and they were so important because it helps being on time for all situations while it shows respect towards my teachers.

2. If you could travel back in time, what would you change-In your own behavior or in the school itself-to make your high school experience better?

Barbara:If i were to go back in time, i would of liked to try more harder on assignments like giving it my full capacity and worked more for extra credit to get my grades more than what i did in the past.

3.What teacher did you learn the most from? Why do you think you learned the most form him/her?

Barbara:The teacher that I think I learned the most from was my language arts teacher (English). I learned from this teacher a lot of literature and about  famous authors that I haven't heard of and from all those things, i tried applying into my life.

4.What advice would you give to a student to help him/her have a good high school experience?

Barbara: Some advice i would give would be to study a lot for your tests and for memorizing your assignments, to do all their school assignments and homework, too have fun at the same time with respect towards your teachers and friends, and not but not least to choose your friends wisely throughout high school.

  For my looking back survey I interviewed my sister Nallely, I asked "What were the most important things you learned in highschool?" She replied "The most important thing I learned in highschool was learning how to create a resume and learning work ethics. Its important to me, because it really helped me on finding my first job and it also helped me how to act on a workplace. I learned that in english class." After that, I asked her "if you could travel back in time, what would you change in your own school behavior or in the school itself." She replied "If I could travel back in time I would take school more seriously, because I wouldn't do my homework sometimes and I would of liked to have better attendance too. Also I think that would of made my school experience better because I would of been able to attend prom night and grand night." Then, I asked her "what teacher did you learn the most from?" She replied "I learned more from my english teacher I dont remember her name, but she made sure we would all understand what she was talking about and if someone would not understand she would explain everything again." Finally, I asked "what advice would you give to a student to help him/her to have a great highschool experience?" she replied "I would advice the students to not be late to school make sure you're always there. Also, always pay attention in class do not goof around, because in long run it will only affect you. Make sure you always do your homework if you dont understand something in class ask for help its okay to ask for help."

 Hi my name is Amanda, but my friends call me Paloma. I am 14  years old. I was born on June 1, 1999. I was born in Mexico, Zacatecas and I had lived there for 6 years and 1/2. I have 2 sibilings and 1 step-brother. I am a student in SUHI. 

 My favorite cartoon movie is the Smurfs. I love this movie because I enjoy it with my siblings.My favorite color is dark blue and green I like both of them because they remind me of the nature  and it reminds me of all the amazing waterfalls. My favorite singer is Adele because I like the way she expresses her feelings in her songs.

 What I do in vacations is that my family and I go to Sea World. At Sea World we watch all the sea animals and we watch all the shows. Sometimes I wonder how the constructors build it. When my parents and my little brother go to another show, my sister and I go on a ride to the Ship Wreak Rapids. While the day was going by, my family and I stayed until 9:00pm to see the fire works. What we also do in vacations we go to the beach and stay for a little while. 

 One of my favorite sports is baseball. I like this sport because when my family and I go to the park we like to play baseball and we all have fun. I also like swimming because you have lots of competition in who is the fastest swimmer of all.

 My favorite Hobby is to listen to music. The truth is that I like any type of song Band, Hip hop, Jazz, etc.   I don't really play any instrument, but I would like to in the Future. I would like to play the piano because it is really relaxing in a slow tone. I would also like to play the electric guitar02 because you can make many motivated sounds.

 What I do when Im sad or mad I like to go on the computre and learn from the waterfalls and everything under the sea.

 In the Future, I would like to go to camp with my family. I would also like to go hicking with them. One day I would like to go to Mexico to visit my family there because its been a very long time that iI haven't communicated with them.

I asked her what were the two or three most important thing you learned in high school?Why were they so important?How did you learn them?She said "I learned to appreciate the friendship of my friends of my parents effort to give me the best education and value to teachers for their patience and effort to teach their students because without this support I would not be anything and neither would know nothing of life thanks to them we went on with much effort and attention to study, as we relied on things that we did not understand and went back to esplicar, patiently."

 I also asked her if you could travel back in time, what would you change -in your own behavior or in the school itself-to make your high school experience better? She said "I was always a good student, maybe change the bullying that made several peers at the time, and would do surveillance would put more teachers were set more on the behavior of their students to those of most peers."  

 I asked her what teacher did she learn the most from? Why did she think she learned the most from him/her? She said "My geography teacher was an excellent teacher and I loved his teaching because it was fun."  

 My final question was what advice would you give to a student to help him/her have a good high school experience?"To be friendly, sociable, to live the moment to the fullest." 

That was all the question that I asked my mom in her experience in high school.

    Hello , my name is Iliana Mendoza-Nevarez , I'm 14 years old . I was born February 8 , 1999 . I was born in San Diego . I live in National City , I've lived here for about 12 years . I have 3 brother's and one "sister" . They all mean the world to me even though they are annoying . I also go to Sweetwater High School , and I'm a freshmen .  My favorite color is pink . I like to be loud and crazy .  I like to go on Facebook , Instagram , and Snapchat . To me , my family and friends are everything .
     I like to go out with my friends , we go to the movies , parties , and shopping . We spend a lot of time together . I also like to be with my family , we mostly do everything together also . Even though they might be annoying sometimes , there's nothing I can do about that . That's just them . I like to also just spend some time like on my own , I like to just be in my own little world .
     My favorite word to say is "oh my god" , it's just a word that I can't forget . I like to listen to Drake .  The person I look up to is my mom , she means the world to me .  Hello, My name is Clarissa Hernandez and I am a freshman at Sweetwater High School. I was born October 25, 1999. I am the youngest of two. My older brother Dorian also attends Sweetwater High School. But I rather have people think we're not related.
 I don't really have a hobby. pretty much have no life. I like messing with my cousin, Aida's cat Bruce Wayne. I'm Sure you all know Aida. She's so amazing. I Know its weird that we're related. She's white. I'm Black. But We're amazingly weird together.
 My favorite rock band is Pierce The Veil. I also like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Beatles, Joy Divisions, Tyler The Creator, Lana Del Rey, & Never Shout Never.
 My boyfriend is Christofer Drew. We've been together since 2007. Our long distance relationship really does suck. But we always happen to make it work.
I play soccer And I want to join volley ball And softball. Its a big change in life because I am a very lazy person.
My dreams in life are having a Hippie Van , seeing Joy Division in concert ,meeting Christofer Drew , To be the owner of tumblr one day , Being a owner of a tea shop , And run a vintage store

 The two most important things he learned in high school was to always keep trying and never give up on yourself. He said his parents never really helped him too much. He helped himself most of the time.


  My dad said that he would travel back in time to change the way he acted with his teachers. Even though he had a rough time in high school,  he still made it.


He learned the most from Ms.Johnson. She  had a bad start  but changed herself for her own good.


Don't take advantage of those 4 years in high school,  get good grades, always try your best, and don't get into any bad consequences.
